LIBRARY POLICY

 Membership of the Library is open to all on payment of appropriate fees as set out below:

The Residents of the Town of Quatre-Bornes do not pay annual subscription fees. However, they should submit proof of identification, e.g. Utility Bill, Recent Bank Statement or similar ID showing proof of address and birth certificate/ID card as appropriate for children & students. Subscribers are responsible for their library card and all items on it. Cards are not transferable and charges will be incurred for late return (50 cents/book/day), loss or damage to library material.

3.            BORROWING BOOKS

The maximum period for which books/magazines may be borrowed is 21 days. The books must be returned on or before expiry of the borrowing period. Books/magazines may be renewed once by phone. (Telephone No. 454-8054 ext. 260)

4.            REFUND OF DEPOSIT

Refund of deposit is made to those subscribers who wish to discontinue their membership. The deposit receipt should be submitted to the library.

There is no refund of subscription.

5.            LOSS AND DAMAGES

(i)            Any person losing or damaging a book shall replace it with a similar one or shall be charged its full value with a binding cost of fifteen rupees if any. No other book shall be lent to that person until the one lost has been replaced

(ii)           For loss of membership card, the borrower shall pay 15 rupees for a duplicate which will be issued to him.

 6.            CANCELLATION OF MEMBERSHIP

The library authority reserves the right to cancel membership of any person who fails to observe the library regulations.

If a subscriber does not use the library for a continuous period of 5 years, his/her membership will after these 5 years be cancelled and his deposit forfeited.
